YA07 is just 8 days away!!

Well, registration is closed! The doors are locked. I hope you are registered so you can attend YA in just 8 days. Life right now is on the extreme crazy side. My YA to do list continues to grow instead of shrink. Everytime I cross something off the list I remember that I have to add 2 more items to the list. What a priviledge it is to serve in this way. I really can't believe I actually get paid to do stuff like this. Please continue to pray for me, all the speakers, the band, the leaders, and the massive army of servants who are all working hard to meet their deadlines so we can be ready to go by Feb. 23. Pray that God would work powerfully through the preaching of His Word. Pray for good health, protection, and an empowering grace that would bring glory to the Savior come Feb. 23-25. I can't wait to be with you all. Pray, pray, pray. I believe God is going to do a radical work in our hearts. Come prepared!!

Our God is a Speaking God

God has chosen to self disclose Himself to us through His Word. Francis Schaeffer, referring to God, wrote, "He is there, and He is not silent." God spoke and the entire universe was born out of nothing. The Bible tells us again and again that God spoke to His people. He spoke to Adam, Abraham, Moses, the prophets, etc. When Jesus came into the world, He was called the Word. How appropriate for God's revelation in the flesh--the living Word. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and TRUTH (John 1:1,14). When you open your Bible, you are hearing the God of the universe speak to YOU. And what He says is absolute truth. What are some apsects of God's nature we discover in His Word?

God's Truth Will Endure Forever

What God has spoken does not change, will not change, cannot change. Psalm 119:89 says, "Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven. Jesus Himself said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away" (Matthew 24:35). The Apostle Peter said, "But the word of the Lord endures forever" (I Peter 1:25). What an awesome thought. When I read my Bible, I am hearing the very words of God which will never pass away. One thousand billion years from now, God's Word will still remain the same...unchanging and absolute.

The "DO YA" video's rock!

I must say--I am impressed with all the "do ya" videos. We are going to have a fight for first. We will be showing some of the do ya videos this Saturday at our Cross Current corp. meeting AND declaring a winner! Make sure you are there at Cross Current this Sat. And...let's actually come BEFORE 6:30pm so we can actually start the meeting at 6:30pm. Maybe I will start giving out awards for those who actually come on time. Actually, I think a better idea would be to start publically rebuking those who come late!!!!!!!!! YES! I like that one. (just kidding guys) Hey, don't forget to bring your wrapped Christmas present for the huge gift exchange. Gift limit is $5. Let's make those gifts fun and creative. I don't won't any junk!
